Professor Johnson holds a Master of Science in Biology degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree, and an Associate of Art in Natural Science and Mathematics degree.

Prof. Johnson has conducted graduate research in the field of field marine ecology. She combined a variety of field techniques, microscopy, and genetics techniques to address questions related to marine limpets and their algal associations in relation to habitat specialization, habitat availability, and food source availability.

Prof. Johnson began her career in education as an Instructional Assistant in special education and ESL classrooms at the K-12 level. Professor Johnson now serves as part-time faculty at CSU Fullerton, Cypress College, and Orange Coast College where she brings her love for science education to the classroom. Prof. Johnson has taught classes in general biology courses, general biology laboratory courses, Biology for Future Teachers, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology. Prof. Johnson has also served as a Course Coordinator for Cellular and Molecular Biology laboratory courses. Prof. Johnson has a teaching certificates for IMPACT in learning and MINDFULNESS in teaching.
