Professor Navid Gohardani holds Ph.D. and Licentiate of Engineering degrees in Civil and
Architectural Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor of Science
degree in the Built Environment, as well as Master and Bachelor degrees in Business
Professor Gohardani is a business leader, manager, researcher and technical expert with a
comprehensive skill set confirmed by experience in different professional environments, where he
has successfully assimilated and applied novel management procedures. His many years of research
experience has enabled him to acquire essential skills in policy and project design and evaluation,
business management and applied engineering, as well as management and planning methods.
His professional interests involve project/construction management, sustainable/green building
design, research, and development on building materials/sustainable construction issues, whole
building analysis, high-efficient insulation technologies and building technology/physics,
organizational leadership, management, marketing and corporate social responsibility.
Other interests include structural steel and welding inspection, material testing, non-destructive
testing, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) and the application of building codes together
with extensive work in the field of construction management.
Professor Gohardani is the recipient of the 2018 Orange County Engineering Council,
Outstanding Young Engineer Award. He is the author of the published book “Approaching
Sustainable Building”, numerous scientific publications and has given more than 20 talks/invited
lectures during the past five years.
Professor Gohardani has instructed thousands of students (K-12/College/University/Industry) in
Europe and in the United States and has managed and educated industry professionals about STEM
subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), principles of engineering, business
administration, standardization, design and execution of steel structures, facility management, and
non-destructive testing. Furthermore, he has a sustained commitment to excellence in undergraduate
and graduate teaching, scholarly research, departmental and college services as well as student
