Rick Fisher holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social & Political Philosophy along with a minor in Psychology and a concentration in Public Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills. In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources Management. Rick’s background includes supervising, training, development, and quality assurance experience in both corporate and higher education environments. These professional experiences have given him in-depth exposure to the intricate set of subsystems necessary to successfully operate an institution of higher education. His experience in higher education includes Academic Advising and Student Services both at the high school and university levels (both undergraduate and graduate). In addition, he has also coordinated Graduate studies for both Schools of Business & Management and School of Nursing with previous employers.

In summary, his specialization includes academic advising, career development, student services/success, and retention. In addition, he holds a passion for developing individualized retention plans intended to support student success and forming deep connections with students around the world. Throughout his career, he has maintained the highest standards of performance, professionalism, and integrity to enhance the student experience. He believes in collaborating with students to strategize each personal path towards achieving success. His personal objective is to advise, educate, and guide students towards the available resources, to maximize their academic journey.
