Empowering Change: Westcliff University’s Impactful Community Engagement Events

Westcliff University understands the importance of giving back, recognizing it as the heartbeat of compassionate communities. And, Westcliff Warriors seek to embody the spirit of selflessness and empathy, transcending borders and backgrounds to connect individuals in the pursuit of a common good. Abiding by the belief that when people volunteer their time, skills, and resources, they contribute to the betterment of society in countless ways, from addressing pressing social issues to supporting those in need. That volunteering fosters a sense of purpose and fulfillment, offering individuals a chance to make a tangible, positive impact on the world around them.

In 2022 alone, Westcliff University’s social responsibility milestones included more than 130 volunteers dedicating their time and accumulating 634 community volunteer hours. Additionally, 645 items were donated to various organizations, including Innovation High of Orange County, Unlimited Possibilities, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and Laura’s House.

westcliff celebrates diversity international food culture fairIn celebration of Second Harvest Food Bank’s 40 years of dedicated service, Westcliff is parenting with and set to participate in the Walk to Feed OC event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Tanaka Farms in Irvine. This annual gathering takes place during National Hunger Action Month and aims to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds in the fight against food insecurity in Orange County. The primary objective being raising $175,000, a sum that could translate into nearly 9 truckloads of fresh produce. Such a feat would undoubtedly bolster Second Harvest’s mission, which centers on ensuring dignified, equitable, and consistent access to nutritious food for those in need within the community. And the good news is, your participation on September 9 can make all of this a reality.

This charity walk isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s a chance for families, companies, and community-minded individuals and groups to come together in a free, fun, 1.5-mile non-competitive event. So join in, spread the word, make a donation, and come together to raise crucial funds for food and nutritional security in Orange County.

But it’s not just about personal fitness goals; it’s about making a significant impact. By registering and joining the Westcliff University team, you’ll be contributing to life-changing cerebral palsy research and innovation throughout the entire month of September.

westcliff joins special forces sports foundationWestcliff University is proud to partner once again with the Inclusive Sports Foundation, formerly known as the Special Forces Sports Foundation, to host Inclusive Sports Day. This athletic, carnival-style local event is specifically designed for students with disabilities.

Westcliff University sports teams will lead the way, running interactive stations that guide students through various athletic drills in an inclusive, engaging environment. But that’s not all; there will also be a DJ and other games, ensuring that the day is filled with excitement and fun on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Great Park in Irvine.

Participate and help in promoting inclusivity and fitness while creating lasting memories at this extraordinary event.
