Professor Nieto holds a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology where she focused on Athlete Identity, including creating a curriculum for Freshmen and Senior Student-Athletes, Mental Toughness related to coming back from injury, and teaching student-athletes and coaches mental skills to help improve their mental health on and off the court.
Professor Nieto is working on a Sports Marketing Certificate while an Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and a Wellness Coach at Westcliff University.
Professor Nieto has served as a Long Beach State University faculty member, teaching Indoor and Beach Volleyball fundamentals. During this time, she was a Collegiate Mental Skills Coach and later a Club Director, running the highest-ranked Beach Volleyball Club in Northern California while also being an Assistant Coach at UC Berkeley. Professor Nieto was a RISE member and the current SAAC Liaison on campus.
