Dr. Gaines holds a Doctor of Education degree, a Master of Science in Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Education.

Professor Gaines has conducted post-graduate research in academic support programs for improving student-athletes’ negative perceptions of academic support programs.

Professor Gaines has served as an adjunct faculty member, Assistant Associate Professor and Director of Counseling and has taught classes in Health Sciences, Health Education, Community Health, and Pharmaceutical Regulation. Professor Gaines has also developed health education curriculum at the undergraduate level.
