To Our Community

As an organization that prides itself on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for students and faculty, Westcliff University is deeply troubled by this incident. We have parted ways with the head coach involved and initiated an internal investigation for the student-athletes involved which is likely to result in suspension. We’ve also taken swift action to reinforce our values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging with all athletic teams and are currently organizing comprehensive training for our staff and students. The incident does not align with Westcliff University’s core values and we sincerely apologize for the pain caused to our community.

We recently had a disturbing incident and video posted on one of our athletics accounts. The depiction is profoundly concerning and in no way aligned with the principles and ethos of our organization. We want to assure our employees, students, and the community that our core values revolve around fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

At Westcliff University, we take immense pride in serving a vibrant and multifaceted population of individuals from over 100 countries. It is our fundamental responsibility to cultivate an environment that not only celebrates but also respects the diversity of our student body and the global community at large.

We are deeply saddened to see our community hurt in this way and genuinely sorry for the pain this incident has caused. We are committed to investigating, learning from this situation, and ensuring it doesn’t happen again.
