Representative Dave Min to Address Westcliff University’s Class of 2026

We’re honored to welcome Representative Dave Min as a featured speaker at Westcliff University’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony.

Representative Min brings a distinguished career spanning public service, higher education, law, and community leadership. The son of Korean immigrants and a product of California’s public education system, his professional journey reflects a deep commitment to service, lifelong learning, and creating opportunities for others. Today, he represents California’s 47th Congressional District in the heart of Orange County, serving communities that include Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Seal Beach, and surrounding areas.

Before entering elected office, Min built a respected career in academia and law. As a professor at the University of California, Irvine, he taught business law and conducted research on banking, housing, and economic policy. Widely recognized for his expertise, he was invited to testify before Congress multiple times on issues related to financial markets and housing. Earlier in his career, he served as an enforcement attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he worked to uphold accountability and integrity within the financial system.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned degrees in philosophy and economics through the Wharton School, Min later received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. Throughout his career, he has combined academic rigor, professional excellence, and a dedication to public service, earning a reputation as a thoughtful leader focused on addressing complex challenges and building stronger communities.
