Dr. Hamed Taherdoost is an award-winning researcher, educator, and industry leader with over two decades of international experience spanning academia, startups, and multinational organizations. Dr. Taherdoost is a Full Professor at University Canada West, where he has designed and led numerous academic programs, supervised graduate research, and advanced institutional research impact. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at Westcliff University (USA), GISMA University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and the Victorian Institute of Technology (Australia).

In industry, Dr. Taherdoost has held multiple senior leadership roles as CTO, R&D Director, and CEO in six established companies with six-figure operations across Canada, Europe, and Asia. In these roles, Dr. Taherdoost has advanced projects in digital transformation, technology integration, and software development. As the Founder of Hamta Business Corporation, Dr. Taherdoost has successfully advised more than 150 companies on R&D and innovation, securing over $50 million through government funding and incentive programs, including SR&ED.

A prolific scholar, Dr. Taherdoost has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications, 16 books, and 27 edited volumes, with an h-index above 55. Dr. Taherdoost’s widely used textbooks, such as E-Business Essentials and Digital Transformation Strategies, are adopted by universities worldwide, including the University of Malta, University of Macau, and Western Sydney University. Dr. Taherdoost’s research focuses on blockchain, cybersecurity, AI adoption, and technology integration. His recent publications have appeared in leading journals including Results in Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, Drug Discovery Today, Journal of Educational Management, IEEE Engineering Management Review, Intelligent and Converged Networks, Information and Computer Security, Behaviour & Information Technology, and Strategy & Leadership.

By bridging cutting-edge technologies with real-world applications, Dr. Taherdoost has been consistently ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally (Stanford–Elsevier, 2021–2024) and among the top 10 business authors on SSRN since 2021.

Dr. Taherdoost is a Series Editor for Routledge’s Mastering Academic Excellence and Jenny Stanford’s Quantum Computing series, and serves on the editorial boards of high-impact journals including PLOS ONE, PeerJ Computer Science, Discover Computing (Springer), Journal of Blockchain (MDPI), Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics, Transactions on Scalable Information Systems, and the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
